Lakeside Stadium has become the home of Victorian Athletics.  The works involved the design and construction of a permanent photo finish pole.  The pole was placed on the back straight for two photo finish cameras, a primary and a backup, necessary for competition at a State Championship level.  Installation of the Photo Finish Pole was mounted in the lower basement of the stadium with the vertical pole passing through the stadium without contact to the arena floor and to the roof of the stadium.  Deflection of this pole was less than 0.15mm in a 50km wind. Camera positions remained consistent to the finish line.
